uc/c consists of three senior level communications professionals with a wide-range of experience and expertise.
Lucas Warren, Principal
As principal of uc/communications, Lucas Warren, has worked on a number of high-level projects for large non-profit associations and municipalities such as the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties (AAMDC), the Leduc-Nisku Economic Development Authority (LNEDA) and the cities of Leduc and Wetaskiwin.
Previously employed with the Government of Alberta, Lucas worked as a senior public affairs officer to develop and implement communication strategies and provide strategic communications planning and advice. Additionally, Lucas wrote and edited news releases, briefings, reports, speeches, newsletters and other publications. He played a lead role in developing the communications around the creation and launch of the Alberta Livestock and Meat Strategy and its related Agency.
Jonathan Meakin, Strategic Advisor
Jonathan Meakin (BA, MA and PhD (abd)) has provided strategic communications planning and marketing services for public, private and non-profit sector organizations for over 10 years.
Jonathan’s approach to both short- and long-term communications initiatives is that plans developed and tools used must clearly engage an organization’s mandate, audiences, and objectives. Guided by this approach, Jonathan has developed communications plans suited for the institutional culture of complex organizations as well as for small non-profit associations. He has also produced a wide range of communications tools that include news releases, briefings, reports, speeches, newsletters, print/radio/TV advertising copy, and other print and online publications.

Jason Flammia, Strategic Advisor
Jason Flammia holds an Applied Bachelor of Communications degree from Grant macEwan in Edmonton, Alberta. He has also obtained a Book Publishing Immersion certificate from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia and is currently working towards his Canadian Editors Accreditation through the Editor’s Association of Canada.
Since 2006, Jason has worked for various organizations within the Canadian book publishing industry in editorial and production roles, and has also been published as a freelance journalist. He currently produces communication tools for the Government of Alberta including articles, website content, annual reports and various promotional materials. Jason also assists on research projects that analyze effective marketing campaigns, while assisting Government of Alberta research projects that study the impacts of the arts on economies and individual health and wellness.
